I am pleased to have this opportunity to welcome you to my office. After graduating from the LSU School of Dentistry I completed a two year program of specialty training in orthodontics at LSU, and have been practicing orthodontics in Baton Rouge since 1982. 

You can eat most of the foods you are eating now. However, in order to minimize breakage of your braces (which could delay completion of your treatment) you should not eat or chew the following things: 

2nd appointment: Consultation appointment and placement of the orthodontic appliances. Needs to be 1-2 weeks after placement of spacers. Will take approximately two hours. 

After completing your orthodontic treatment you will need retainers to keep your teeth straight. At first you will need to wear your retainers every night, but even after two years Dr. Martin recommends that you wear retainers one or two nights a week indefinitely to keep your teeth straight. 

Moderate crowding with crossbites of the front teeth. Treatment time was 24 months. No permanent teeth were extracted in this case, but two deciduous cuspids seen in the initial photo were extracted after the braces were placed.
